The Squeeze

The Squeeze is the 7th episode of the third season and the 15th overall episode of Top Boy.

Synopsis[]

Ats makes his first delivery. Jamie's punishment for a detractor goes awry. After a warning from Haze, Dushane looks to eliminate the competition.

Plot[]

Jamie is in his home looking out of his bedroom window. Jaq is teaching Ats about the drug game. Stefan is laying in his bed thinking about how he lost his best friend for mixing with the Summerhouse gang.

Sully is out driving around with Ricky, Jamaal and Gerry at the London Fields looking for Jamie and his crew. They notice a kid walking through. They check to see if he is one of Jamie's youngers but then they discover that he is not part of the Fields gang as he is just part of a football team. Sully suggests to leave him.

Jamie is on the phone packing his bags. He knocks on Aaron's bedroom door to tell him he needs to chat to him but Abby comes out. Jamie persists Aaron to tell him to come to the kitchen to chat to him and Stefan also. He tells Aaron and Stefan to stay in the house and not allow any guests in. He advises them to only go out when it comes to going to their educations. Jamie and Aaron are arguing. Abby leaves. Aaron tells Jamie that he knows what he does. Stefan ear wigs in the conversation. Jamie makes it clear to Aaron that he is to follow the rules and look out for Stefan. As Jamie goes to leave, Stefan asks Jamie how long he'll be gone. Jamie tells Stefan that he will be back. Jamie hugs Stefan before he leaves. Aaron tells Jamie to be careful. Jamie tells Aaron to make sure him and Stefan look after eachother. Jamie looks at the CCTV cameras. Kit, Si and Tyrone are waiting for Jamie as they leave. Kit tells Jamie that things will be okay. Ruben is in the fields to see Jamie. He gives him the app to look at the CCTV on whoever comes in and out of his flat. Jamie asks Ruben about the Summerhouse crew being given guns. Ruben tells him its private and confidential as clients are clients. Jamie and his crew drive off and a member of Summerhouse Kieron is round the fields spying over Jamie.

Dushane goes over to see his mother. Shelley is round, Shelley gives her condolences about Donovan. Pat starts crying and gets upset over Dushane and blames him for losing her nephew. Pat asks Dushane to leave the house. Dushane leaves the house.

Ats is at the basketball court, Jaq walks over to Ats and recommends Ats to go to Manchester to deliver the drugs as Summerhouse is hot. Ats goes to the park to chat to Stefan and tells him to come to Manchester with him. Stefan declines it. But then Ats tells him its to help pay his mother's rent and says he can't do it alone. Stefan and Ats are on the train together with music blasting on the phone. A man is telling them to turn the music down as they are on a private carriage and Stefan reponds "Shut the fuck up then". They land to Manchester.

Jamie is sat at Kit's place. Kit is cooking them both fry ups. Jamie asks Kit if he eats this shit everyday. Kit evades the question. Kit and Jamie have a plan what to do about Leyton. Jamie gets a text from Lizzie to ask her to meet her at a certain place.

Jamie and Lizzie are at the meeting where he gives her the money that he made. Jamie asks about her brother. Lizzie asks who it is who is who is getting shot in the back of the knee and Jamie responds just asking for a friend. Jamie walks off and she asks Jamie where is he going. The two then have sex. Lizzie starts to feel guilty as she is married. She evades the questions. She tells Jamie that he is good at 2 things and that is selling drugs and taking care of a woman. Lizzie tells Jamie she will let him know when the next shipment is in.

Ats and Stefan are still in Manchester waiting for the buyer. Stefan tells Ats that he wants to go home as Jamie will go mad if he found out, but Ats tells him he can come home but he will still sit back as he needed the money. The buyer drives Craig over. He tells them to get in the car. Stefan and Ats are both sat in the car as the both are scared. They get out of the car. As they are walking through the alleyway with Craig and his henchmen there are random Mancs making bullying remarks at Stefan and Ats. They are in the chop shop. Craig starts bullying them. He tells them that he will probably kill them both and tell Jaq that they must have ran away with the money. Craig tells them that he is joking. He gives Ats the bag and tells him and Stefan to not look inside the bag and they both leave. Stefan and Ats stop in the shopping centre for a drink. Stefan asks Ats about his Dad. Ats tells him that his Dad is a wasteman and don't know where he is. Ats tells him if there are a couple more jobs then he will definetly save his Mum's rent.

Dushane is on the phone to Sully, he tells him Haze is going to be at the meet later. Sully tells him he got something else going but tells him that he will be there. Dushane goes and speaks to Dris to collect the money he made on the corner. Dris gives him the moneyn but not enough to sell to make it right for the Jamaicans. Sully is still out with Jamaal, Ricky and Gerry.

Cornell and Leyton are having a conversation about killing Jamie. Cornell tells Leyton that he is not interested in taking out Jamie as they are making lots of money together and also states to Leyton that Jamie had no issue taking out the Turks or Cam. Leyton tells Cornell that Jamie barely touched Cam and tells him that anyone could of took out the Turks. Farah however looks over Leyton speaking with Leyton and quickly goes before she was spooked. Farah tries to ring Jamie to ask where he is.

Jamie and Kit are testing out the guns. Farah is telling Jamie that she caught Leyton red hand speaking with Cornell. Kit says he gets a message saying that they seen Sully. Jamie and Kit make their way to find Sully and orders Farah to shoot Leyton in the back of his knee as a message.

As Stefan and Ats are back in Hackney. Ats is making Manchester accent impersonations. Ats goes over for a piss and gives Stefan the bag, someone walks over and robs the bag from Stefan. Jaq is having ago at Ats about the missing bag. Ats explained what happened. Jaq asked what the guy looked but Ats said he didn't get a good look. Jaq tells them not to say anything to their friends or family. She tells them no excuses and tells them to get out of their site. Dushane walks down the the stairs and tells Jaq to tell Craig he owes him. Dushane makes it clear that no one hears about it. From what it turned out that it was Kieron who robbed them. They open the bag and notice its just white paper and no money.

Stefan is back home. Aaron asks Stefan where has he been. Stefan tells Aaron to not tell Jamie. He asks Aaron about Jamie's job being illegal and Aaron says no. Aaron is sat on the table. Jamie is making his way to hunt down Sully and Dushane is outside Dris' flat. Whilst Sully and the others still trying to find the Fields crew, Jamaal suggests to call it a day and Sully tells him no one is going home until they find Jamie.

All the Fields gang are surrounding Leyton. Tyrone whacks Leyton in the head with a baseball bat. Si holds down Leyton and Farah shoots him in the back of the knee. Leyton loses alot of blood and struggles to breathe. Tyrone and Farah are arguing. Si says to Leyton you alright fam? Leyton passes out and dies.

Sully, Jamaal, Gerry and Ricky drive up to the petrol station. There are ZT youngers who alert Kit. Kit tells Jamie they found him. Sully confronts the ZT youngers. The youngers run away and Jamaal is shot in the head. Sully is shooting at Jamie and his crew. Sully, Ricky and Gerry drive off. Jamie is in the back of the car celebrating that he killed Jamaal thinking he killed Sully. Jamie's phone rings as he hears that Leyton didn't survive the shot in the knee.

Jamie goes back to the crew, they ask Jamie what should they tell Modie. Jamie suggests that they should tell Modie it was the Summerhouse crew who killed him for payback for trying kill Sully at Jason's funeral.

Haze and his yardie men go to see Dushane. Haze asks Dushane if there is going to be an issue about Donovan"s death. Dushane says no. He tells Dushane that he done Donovan a big favor as it was Sugar who wanted Donovan to suffer. Dushane tells Haze he needs more time but Haze doesn't like that. Haze threatens to tell Dushane he better make it right for Sugar or he will kill Shelley, Tish, his brother and his mum. Then kill Dushane if he doesn't make it right. Haze walks off.

Dushane and Sully are in the cafe they are talking about the problem and still planning to take down Jamie. Sully tells Dushane he will find Jamie and kill him when he sees him the first he lays eyes on him. Sully tells him he is sorry to hear about Donovan. Dushane asks him if its worth the squeeze then starts laughing because its the questions Donovan use to ask Dushane. Dushane tells Sully he underestimated Sugar and goes on about Donovan and Jason being dead and asks whos next whether it would be Taylor, Tash or his mum then they go on about their past how they try to get to the top. Sully asks what else is there and what else are they going to be? Dushane goes to see Shelley and she lets him in.
