Smoke Gets In Your Hands

Big Flame is the 5th episode of the third season and the 13th overall episode of Top Boy.

Synopsis[]

As the money rolls in for Dushane and Sully's crew, a threat gets wind of their booming business -- and neither party is ready to give up their turf.

Plot[]

Dushane and Sully have able to get the Summerhouse crew rise back to the top again. Jaq manages to take her new girlfriend Maude out on successful dates. Dushane goes and buys new jewellery. Dris gets his 3rd in command of the crew back.

Dushane and Sully are getting the money together. Sully is still grieving over the death of his friend and son figure Jason. Dushane gives Sully money and tells him to enjoy it.

Dushane rings Shelley asking to meet up but Shelley tells him she can't make it due to her daughter's swimming class. After the phone call Dris and Jaq walk up to Dushane. Dris tells Dushane that him and the crew are going to get some food and then clubbing. Dris asks Dushane if he is coming and he tells Dris he will meet him there.

Dushane is driving his car along to his car to meet Shelley. Tish is very happy to see Dushane. Tish says she came 2nd in her swimming class. Dushane tells Tish she is the best athlete. However Shelley is asking Dushane questions. Shelley asks Dushane about what he is doing with his life. Dushane tries to give her a present from the jewellery store what he got earlier. She then tells Dushane to come back to him when he is ready to tell her what he is doing with his life and goes back to Tish.

Dushane is comes to the club with the Summerhouse crew. Dushane and Sully are sat together. Sully however walks off as he feels that him and Dushane are the oldest and he walks off. Dris comes and sits with Dushane. Dris tells Dushane that there is nice girls that want to chat to Dushane but Dushane declines it as he seems to only want to see Shelley. Dushane asks Dris about the medication. Dris tells him that he is on the medication only and tells him its cool and walks off. Dushane is still sat down while everyone else is dancing around.

Amma and Ats are sat eating breakfast together. Amma demands to give Ats money for his lunch but Ats says no and tells his mother he is getting free lunch at school. She gives him clothes to take back to school for breaking the washer machine. Ats makes his way to school.

Dushane and Dris walk over to Jaq. Jaq is apprached by Sarah and Lee as they want to tell Dris and Dris something about the Fields gang. They tell them about the London Fields gang having loads of drugs to sell. Sarah and Lee however were told about the Turks being killed by a Fields gang member. Dushane asks Dris and Jaq to find out who the new leader is. Dris tells Dushane it will be Leyton due to being cousins with Modie. Jaq thinks it's just a couple of new kids on the block. Dushane makes plan and sends them to scope around the Fields. Dris is upset that he has to go over instead of sending Kieron. Dris reminds Dushane that him, Dushane and Sully are partners. Dushane tells Dris to go over the fields with Jaq anyway. Dushane rings Sully and leaves a voice message telling him to call him.

Sully meets up with his ex girlfriend Taylor after dropping off Tash to school. Taylor tells Sully that she will like Sully and Tash to meet eachother. Taylor is pregnant and has new fiancé named Paul. She arranges for Sully to come round to have dinner with her, Paul and Tash. She gives Sully her number and walks off. After that Sully then sees his enstranged cousin Jermaine. Jermaine however is still upset about Sully and his friend Mike kidnapping him. Sully tells him it was 5 years ago. Sully tells Jermaine its done. The two shake hands and part ways. While Sully walks off, he noticed Arsenal FC on his crest thinking about how he was going to take Jason to watch them play.

Ats is at school speaking with Ms. Griffiths, she gives Ats back the clothes after being washed. Ats asks Ms. Griffiths if his mother can work at the school. She tells Ats that there are no jobs going at the moment. Then Mr. Evans has a go at her and reminds her that she is paid to educate the children not clean their clothes. She stands up against Mr. Evans. Ms Griffiths is looking over Ats as she notices him stealing a pupils snack from his bag blind.

Dushane walks back to Dris. Shelley rings Dushane telling him that his mother has been rushed to hospital and Dushane quickly makes his way.

Dris and Jaq walk up to visit a woman who lives in the Fields estate. Dris gives her free drugs for them to scope out the Fields members from her living room window. Her son talks with Dris and tells him he knows his name. When he tells him what his name is he tells him he is someone else. Jaq and Dris have a cup of tea. Jaq and Dris tell the kid that they are builders. The kid tells them that women can't be builders and she tells him not to be sexist. Jaq tells him that she is a boxer. As they get their tea. Jaq goes back to looking out of the window.

Dushane is at the hospital. Pat tells Dushane to stop looking sad as she claims there is nothing wrong with her. Dushane thanks Shelley for being at the hospital with Pat.

Ms. Griffiths and Amma are having a conversation about her witnessing Ats stealing out of other kids lunch boxes. Amma tells Ms Griffiths about the UK Immigrations officers coming round and how she lost her job, no benefit entitlements and getting deported. Ms Griffiths understands her vision.

Whilst Dris and Jaq are still up scoping in the fields. Jaq spots all the Fields gang. Dris notices Leyton (thinking he is the leader). They then go and leave the flat. Jamie walks over to meet the crew. Leyton tells Jamie that he heard a tip that Dushane and Sully are back running Summerhouse again. Kit thinks it's a madness as he knew those two had beef back in the day. Leyton then tells the crew that they should wipe them out. Leyton however wants revenge for what Sully did to his cousin Modie. Jamie tells Leyton and the crew to lay low for a while. Jaq notices that Jamie happens to be running the fields. Dris convinces Jaq that Leyton runs it but Jaq makes it clear to Dris that Jamie is the leader. They follow Jamie.

Dris rings Dushane to tell him that they are following Jamie now. Dushane tells Dris that he will get Sully to meet him. Shelley tells him if he has got somewhere to be she will happily stay with Pat. Dushane tells Shelley that his remaining at the hospital. Dushane rings Sully but goes on answer phone message to tell him to call Dris. Sully is on the train making his way back to Ramsgate, he is thinking of the fire.

Jamie is walking over the antique store to see Lizzie. Jaq is shocked about Jamie whuy he is going in the antique store. The person who answers the door is Lithe as she introduces herself to Jamie. Lithe is telling Jamie he is a caring person. Lizzie knocks on the window to get Jamie's attention. As Jamie is in her office. Jamie asks her about his business. She tells Jamie its a front for her drug operation. Jamie gives her alot of cash that he made. Lizzie and Jamie have a drink.

Shelley and Dushane are sat together with Pat in the hospital. Dushane tries to give his present to Shelley. She declines it. Shelley tells Dushane that she wants a family and make brothers and sisters for Tish but wants a man who doesn't play any stupid games. She continues playing with Dushane's head. Dushane's phone rings and he ignores it. Dushane tells Shelley he wants to get to know her.

Lizzie and Jamie have a conversation about family. She tells him about her brothers being drug dealers. Her brother Connor got killed and her brother Eamonn was shot in the back of the knee. Lizzie starts telling Jamie about Ireland and tells him that he will be popular with the ladies. Lizzie tells Jamie about her travelling history. Lithe tells Lizzie she is leaving and Lizzie tells her she will lock up. Jamie finds her weird but Lizzie tells him she is the best accountant ever. Lizzie goes and counts the money. Dris and Jaq are still outside waiting. Jamie touches Lizzie's leg and Lizzie and Jamie have sex.

Sully is back in Ramsgate again wanting to get revenge against the racist Ramsgate locals as he is watching over the pub they drink at.

Lizzie and Jamie finish with their sex. She tells Jamie that she doesn't want to have sex with Jamie again and tells him next time its only business as she doesn't want Lithe's neighbours thinking she has men round after hours. Lizzie leaves her store and locks up. Dris and Jaq walk up to her as Jamie left from the back. Dris asks Lizzie about Jamie. They both kidnap Lizzie.

Dushane's phone rings. Shelley asks Dushane if its work again. Dushane goes over to his phone to answer the phone to Dris. He tells Dushane that they kidnapped Lizzie. Dushane tells Dris to tell Lizzie to ring Jamie and tell him to meet at Number one Caff. Dushane tells Shelley he has to go and give Shelley the jewellery that he bought for her. Shelley takes a look at it.

When the pub is shut, Sully follows one of the Ramsgate locals.

Dushane is at the number one caff and Jamie comes along. Jamie and Dushane are having a talk. Jamie asks about Lizzie. Dushane tells Jamie he is not trying to step in Jamie's toes as long as he sells it in his own ends. Jamie tells Dushane that he is not to sell drugs unless if he works for him. Jamie responds "you wanna sell food? You sell my food! Or you sell nothing at all!". He tells Dushane about what he did to the Turks. Dris brings back Lizzie. Jamie also states about begging his brother for 10 grand!

Whilst Sully is still following the Ramsgate local, he picks up a metal bar and whacks it round his head and punches him repeatedly and then whacks him with the metal bar again for killing Jason and racially abusing him. Sully then walks off. Sully returns to the Ramsgate beach and swims through the water.
