Modie was a drug lord who operated the powerful London Fields drug gang. Under his leadership, the London Fields became one of the dominant drug distributors in Hackney, following the fragmentation of the Summerhouse Gang. Modie was known for his volatile and unpredictable personality, being prone to regular outbursts which were amplified by his foul temper.
Biography[]
Background Information[]
Modie was the founding member of the London Fields crew. His reckless attitude and aggressive business style earned him a formidable reputation which contributed to the growth of his gang. At some point, Modie's sister married Jermaine Newton, making the latter his brother-in-law.
At some point, Modie was tried and convicted for the possession and sale of Class A drugs. He was given an 18-year sentence, ending up behind bars with Gerard "Sully" Sullivan.
Season 3[]
Members of the London Fields gang discuss Modie's conviction, with Leyton reminding them that Modie intended for him to run the operation in his absence. ("Bruk Up")
Modie is in his prison cell when Leyton uses a drone to discretely transport drugs and a mobile phone to his cell window, which Modie uses to contact London Fields, indicating he intends to resume his business behind bars.
The following morning, as Sully queues for breakfast, Modie cuts in front of him and starts antagonising him. Sully's defiant remarks anger Modie who begins shoving him, leading to a brief altercation between the two which is quickly broken up by a guard who isolates them in their cells.
Modie sends men to start selling drugs in Sully's cell, prompting Sully to confront Modie as he is bribing a guard. Modie begins aggravating Sully, knowing Sully can't misbehave in front of the guards due to his early scheduled release. Modie tauntingly yells insults at Sully as he departs. Sully hides in Modie's cell during the prison recess and throws a bowl of boiling hot water on his face, leaving him disfigured with second degree burns as he screams out in pain. As Modie is unable to report Sully (as he would be labelled a snitch), Sully is able to walk out of prison unscathed. ("Building Bridges")
Alongside his brother-in-law Jermaine, Modie begins conspiring to murder Sully. Modie calls and instructs Layton to defy Jamie's orders and murder Sully at Jason's funeral. Layton fails to kill Sully, however, starting a war between the London Fields and Summerhouse gang. ("Press Gang")
Modie escapes prison with the help of Sully's cousin Jermaine. He is all over the police radar but seems to act normal over it, he comes back to the crew and tells everyone he is taking back the crew which Jamie doesn't like and makes Jamie give him his supplier Lizzie which he tries to refuse, she is kidnapped by Dushane and Sully. Modie manages to get to Sully and Dushane with the help that Jermaine getting a tip off their long time friend Dris but Jermaine and Modie both fail to kill them both.
When Modie's eye gets worse Jermaine sends him to a dodgy doctor. Driving about London, he's eventually stopped by armed police, raging one last time before he's shot dead.

Trivia[]
- There was a possibility that Jamie snitched on Modie to take over the leadership as his supplier Lizzie said "If you got rid of him once, you can do it again preferably permanently". This is a reaction to Jamie saying Modie 'thinks he snaked on him', and when she asks 'Did you?' he says nothing, implying he did.
- Modie's real name was never announced until after his death when he is mentioned in the news.
