Lisa Smith was one of the main characters in the first 2 seasons in Top Boy, she is portrayed by Sharon Duncan-Brewster.
Biography[]
Lisa lived with her son Ra'Nell in Summerhouse, she doesn't like him mixing with gangs or going out on the street selling drugs, she was good friends with Leon who was a thug who was friends with her ex husband and now lives a normal life. When Lisa has mental breakdown and comes to the hospital she has Leon to look out for her son. In season 2 she is owning a hair salon which doesn't go well as her rent got tripled.
Season 1[]
Lisa is first seen in her flat with Ra'Nell. She is shown to be ill. Lisa walks down to the local market to get some fruit and struggles to walk back home. She falls to the floor and is later questioned at a mental health clinic. When asked if she has any children, she says No because she doesn't want Ra'Nell being put into foster care. Leon later visits the clinic and sees Lisa there, and he briefly talks to her. Leon tells Ra'Nell that Lisa is in a mental health clinic and needs some time to rest.
Her health slowly starts to improve whilst she is in the clinic. She is soon discharged and is able to go back home. After Leon is killed, Lisa goes to the police station with Ra'Nell who is questioned about it, but he doesn't say anything about it even though he knows Sully killed him. As Lisa and her son go back home, Ra'Nell sees Dushane on the estate. Lisa tells Ra'Nell she is going to run him a bath but he doesn't reply, he grabs a knife from the kitchen and tries to kill Dushane because he is annoyed and sad about Leon's death. However Dushane manages to stop Ra'Nell and puts him on the floor, and Lisa realises that Ra'Nell took the knife as she saw it missing from the kitchen. She runs down the steps and separates Dushane and Ra'Nell. Lisa tells Dushane to stay away from her son.
Season 2[]
Lisa now owns a hair salon. She is seen in the hair salon with others a few times and Ra'Nell visits her after his football practice. Ra'Nell is beaten up by Vincent and his face looks a mess, afterwards he goes to the hair salon and Lisa is shocked at the state he's in, and he tells her that it was Vincent. Lisa goes to Vincent's shop to try to talk to him about the incident but sees him being aggressive towards other kids. Desperate to ensure Ra'Nell doesn't get into any more trouble, she asks to speak to Dushane. Lisa tells Dushane that Vincent beat up Ra'Nell badly and asks him to talk to Vincent, which he agrees to. Vincent is later killed by Babrak Mustapha. Lisa and Ra'Nell are seen together in the neighbourhood at the end of Season 2. She isn't seen or mentioned again after this.

- Vincent: Lisa told Mr. Mustapha about Vincent bullying his son into selling drugs. Mustapha gets really angry and stabs Vincent in the leg which he then starts bleeding to death. (23/10/2020)
