Leyton is a major antagonist in the Season 3 of Top Boy, portrayed by Kola Bokinni.
Leyton was the de facto leader of the London Fields gang following his cousin Morris "Modie" Gregory's imprisonment. When fellow gang member Jamie Tovell begins exercising better leadership, Leyton goes against the crew's decision to lay low by attempting to assassinate rival gang leader Gerard "Sully" Sullivan[1], and conspiring with another rival gang to have Jamie killed.
Jamie learns of this and to send a message, the gang arranges to shoot Leyton under the knee non-fatally. However, Farah accidentally shoots an artery behind his leg where he dies of blood loss quickly.
Biography[]
Leyton is part of the London Fields gang, he becomes leader after his cousin Modie gets an 18 year sentence, but then Jamie Tovell takes the leadership off him when he kills the Turkish connection to work for Lizzie an Irish drug supplier. Since Jamie took over Leyton has an uneasy relationship with him and enforces his own rules which eventually gets him killed. Before his death he was dating Lauryn who is the sister of rival gang member Jaq, she told Leyton everything.
Season 3[]
Leyton becomes a de facto leader after his cousin Modie is sent to prison, however Jamie self appoints himself and makes Kit his 2nd in command by killing off the Turkish kingpins and to work for Lizzie. Leyton brings a drone in for Modie to sell drugs in prison. Leyton comes with Jamie and the other crew members to kill Cam, they beat him to death and throw him off a tower block.
Leyton lets Jamie and the crew know that Dushane and Sully are back running Summerhouse after Summerhouse were downhill after them 2 were out for a few years, Jamie tells the gang to lay low and wait and wait for the right moment. He was also having a relationship with Lauryn who is the sister of one the Summerhouse crew members Jaq. When Jamie wanted his crew to lay low for a while, Leyton rings Modie to tell him to kill Sully, Leyton is disloyal so he makes his way with Jermaine he shoots at Sully but fails to kill him.
When Jamie finds out he is disloyal he arranges Farah to shoot him in the back of his thigh "in the fleshy part behind the bone" which was supposed to cause pain but not kill him, instead Farah accidentally hits him in an artery and Leyton dies.
Post-Mortem[]
Lauryn was forced to confess to her sister Jaq about her telling Leyton about Sully going to his friend Jason’s funeral. Jaq then proceeds to beat her up.
