Building Bridge is the 2nd episode of the third season and the 10th overall episode of Top Boy.
Synopsis[]
Dushane returns to London. Jamie juggles family duties with risky responsibilities. Before his prison release, convict Sully is provoked by an inmate.
Plot[]
A drone is flown to Modie's cell with new drug supplies by his cousin Leyton. Modie collects the supply and Leyton brings back the drone. Modie is then on his mobile phone.
Sully is walking back to the prison wing, the guard then tells Sully he doesn't want to take anymore shit from him. Sully is then walking up to his cell.
Sully queues up for breakfast and is approached by Modie. Modie starts provoking Sully. Sully reminds Modie who he is talking to but Modie doesn't care and continues antagonising Sully. Modie starts trying to fight with Sully until the guard stops it. Modie and his crew then walk off.
Sully walks up to his cell with his breakfast. The prison guard reminds Sully about his parole and tries to use his scare tactics against him. Sully is sat back in his cell and looks at photos of his daughter and Jason.
Jamie is sat in his room looking at a picture of his mother. Stefan is eating. Jamie looks and notices one of his brothers has dipped into his stash and took some money out. He questions Stefan if he has been in his room, Stefan tells him he doesn't go in his room. Stefan reminds Jamie that its parents evening at his school. Jamie then goes and approaches Aaron and tells him about his money being stolen. Aaron admits to it as he met a girl at university that he really likes so he can impress her. Jamie takes the money back off Aaron and warns him never to go in his room again. Jamie reminds Aaron that Stefan has his parents evening tonight.
Amma is in the kitchen with her Ats while he is having her cereal. Amma reminds Ats about his homework and he tells her he has done it. A knock is at the door. Ats answers and it happens to be the UK immigration service. Amma sends Ats out to school even though its early. The agents come in and chat to Amma. They tell her that she is not in any legal right to come in the UK. Even though she lived in the country for 18 years and also claims to spoke with the immigration service. They ask Amma if she has a job. She tells them that she has a job. Amma also tells them that her papers are correct and her status is legal. They then go and leave the house.
Jamie, Kit and the other ZT crew are all hanging out. Si comes over with his dog. Jamie reminds everyone that him and Kit killed the Turks. The whole crew is shocked. Leyton is upset due to that he was the de facto leader but Jamie self appointed his self. Jamie tells Leyton that he has someone to supply that has very high grade and every drugs that is needed. Jamie reminds Leyton that he is running the fields and everyone else agreed about Jamie leading. Leyton walks off.
Lauryn and Shelley are sat down together. Shelley is varnishing Lauryn's nails and talking about the usual girly stuff. Lauryn's sister Jaq walks in and Lauryn tells Jaq not to slam the door and she replies wah gwaan. Jaq talks to Shelley but Lauryn tells her not to talk to Shelley. Jaq asks Lauryn where their mum is. Lauryn replies "how the fuck should I know". Jaq walks over the door as there is a knock and its Dris at the door. Lauryn tells Shelley that they should go out and get on with some men. Shelley refuses. Jaq goes upstairs to give Dris the gun. Dris drops the gun. But then picks it back up. Dris leaves the house. Shelley looks really shocked when she sees it. Lauryn reminds Shelley that Dris had a stroke and tells her about what happened to the Turkish gangsters.
Dushane returns from Jamaica to London. He comes in to a cafe to get a coffee. Dushane then walks out. He walks in to check in the Summerhouse market. He then makes his way to see his mum. Shelley answers the door. Dushane walks in and Pat is happy to see her son again. Dushane and his mum then catch up. They have a laugh about putting on weight, she tells Dushane she has diabetes type 2 and Dushane tells her his excuse is rum. Pat introduces Shelley and Dushane. Shelley happens to be a carer for Pat. Dushane gives Pat a shot on her diabete jab. Dushane tells his mum that he has to go now now. Dushane and Shelley have a conversation. Dushane then walks off.
Jamie is at Lizzie's house. Him and Lizzie have a conversation about Lizzie's house. Jamie, Kit, Lizzie and her husband Jeffrey are sat in the livng room. Jamie tells jeffrey that the supply has to be regular. Lizzie talks about bringing in 15 kilos a month. Jamie tells them that him and his crew can handle it.
Jamie and Kit are driving back. Kit asks Jamie how is he going to get 15 kilos sold in the street. Jamie tells Kit that he is going to chat with the A-Roadz leader Cam. He insists Cam will buy the supply off Jamie as he was also selling for the Turks. Kit tells Jamie that its a wrong move and reminds him that Cam will kill him the way they killed the Turks. Kit also discovers that Jamie has a love interest in Lizzie. Jamie tells Kit that taking a chance with Cam is a once in a lifetime or he might regret it.
Sully is in the prison yard. He walks back into his cell. 2 of Modie's are sat in his cell dealing drugs. Sully gets really angry one of them steps to Sully. Sully headbutts him and the other gets up with a shiv threatening to stab Sully. Sully walks off. Sully goes into Modie's cell to confront Modie. There is a prison guard in there. Modie threatens to interfere with Sully's release on Friday by trying to provoke him even more. Sully walks off. Modie shouts "YOU AIN'T GOING NO WHERE ON FRIDAY, FUCKIN' PUSSY".
Dushane goes and pays Dris a visit. Dris is very happy and welcomes Dushane in his flat and takes him in. Dushane asks Dris what happened to his arm. Dris tells him he had a stroke. Dushane is shocked as Dris is a young soldier. Dris tells Dushane how hard it is to make money and how he has gone through alot of stress. Dris asks Dushane how Jamaica was and Dushane tells him it was hard.
Dushane and Dris are walking round London. He tells Dushane that its been a mayhem and hard to make a living due to the Turks upping the price. He tells Dushane about the Turks getting killed. Dushane asks who killed the Turks and Dris thinks it may be the A-Roadz. He explains about the Fields being quiet since Modie got 18 years in prison. Dushane asks about the other crews. Dris said he hasn't been able to make any money since the Turks got wiped out. Dushane explains to Dris that he is able to get more product coming in. Dushane introduces Jaq and the other Summerhouse crew to Dushane. Dris is telling them about Dushane being a former top g at Summerhouse. However none of them never heard of Dushane. Dushane tells Dris to listen out on who tries to sell them food as it will discover who wiped out the Turks and walks off. Jaq asks Dris if he is a badman where has he been.
Jamie is in the jewellery shop. He takes an interest on the woman who works there named Tilly. They introduce eachother. Jamie meets Cam. cam gets rude to Jamie as Jamie tells him he is running the fields now. Cam has a disagreement with Jamie and tries to negotiate with Jamie. He tells Jamie he will think about it after speaking with his crew first. Tilly watches over Jamie and Cam as she discovers Jamie is a gang member. Jamie goes back to Tilly. Jamie tries to get Tilly's number, she tells him he ain't getting her number, so he gives her his number.
Stefan is sat waiting to speak with the other teachers with Jamie. He sees that Jamie is on his phone. Jamie tells Stefan he is texting Aaron and he tells him to forget Aaron. They meet Ms. Griffiths, Stefan's history teacher. Jamie is impressed on how good Stefan is doing well in history. Ats and Amma finish their meeting with a teacher, Stefan and Jamie see Amma and Ats. Jamie notice Amma feels under pressure but Amma tells Jamie not to worry. They meet Mr. Evans he makes negative remarks on Stefan, Jamie stands up to to Mr. Evans. Mr. Evans tells Jamie that he will look at Stefan's marks again after that as other teachers were speaking positive about Stefan.
Jamie and Stefan walk up to the bench to see Aaron. Jamie is talking about the day Stefan was born and talking about their parents. They are sitting on a bench thinking about their parents on their birthdays. They all say happy birthday to their late mum. Jamie give Aaron money to treat Abby and gives Stefan money for making him proud of his school campaign and he tells them both to go home. Aaron walks back to ask Jamie if everything is cool and Jamie tells him everything is cool.
Amma is at work, her boss approaches her about UK immigration services. She admits it, so her boss then tells her that she has to terminate her employment. Amma is very upset as she lost her job.
Sully is standing in prison watching Modie while he is playing cards with his crew in the wing while Sully uses his tactical plan revenge, he sneaks in to Modie's cell, puts on rubber gloves, he mixes in boiled water and sugar in a bowl and mixes it. The guard shouts lock up. Modie goes back into his cell shouting around the prison wing. As he goes in his cell, Sully is waiting in his cell and throws the bowl of boiled water and badly scalds Modie's face. Sully quickly gets away back to his cell gets rid of what he is his towel and acts normal. The guards burst in and drag Sully out of his cell. Modie gets medical attention.
Dushane is round the lake in a meeting with Haze. He tells Dushane that the new shipment will be five bags of white and five dark. He tells Dushane the exact location and right time. He demands 10 grand off Dushane. He makes it clear that Sugar will get what is his. Also reminding Dushane about his cousin Donovan. Haze walks off.
Sully is interviewed by a police detective about the attack on Modie. Sully denies the attack on Modie. However with no evidence Sully didn't get charged with the assault on Modie. Sully is then back in his cell.
Tilly meets up with Jamie. Jamie drives up with his crew. Tilly refuses to get in the car as she didn't want to be round his crew so Jamie tells them all to get out the car. They all get out the car. Tilly comes in Jamie's car. A drive by comers through to shoot at the Jamie and the ZT crew but hits Tilly instead.
Sully is released from prison and he is re united with his son figure and good friend Jason who waits for him outside the prison gates. Dushane is watching Sully from his car while Sully and Jason are catching up.
