Big Flame

Big Flame is the 3rd episode of the third season and the 11th overall episode of Top Boy.


Synopsis[]

Strapped for cash, Dushane makes a proposition to an old friend and attempts burglary. Beefing with a rival gang, Jamie struggles tp keep a low profile.

Plot[]

Jamie, Si, Tyrone and Farah jump in the car, as Jamie attempts to go on the hunt for Cam, Kit however advises Jamie about not going after Cam just yet but Jamie ignores as he wants revenge for Tilly and drives off with the other crew.

Jamie and the crew track down where Cam and his crew hang out so they make their way over there.

ZT and the A-Roadz gang go and fight with baseball bats. Jamie and Cam are fighting when the police come over. Si is stabbed. They drive quickly to the hospital. the A-Roadz gang are in the hospital and the fight starts going again. Tolga runs off and Farah chases her.

Sully and Jason are sat in a kebab shop. Sully discovers that Jason has been using drugs. Jason denies it. Dushane pops up as he wants to speak to Sully. Jason walks off. Dushane begs Sully to partner up with him again in the drug game. Sully however is still upset with Dushane as Sully thinks Dushane is only out for himself. Dushane explains how he is 36, has no woman, no kids and sleeping on Dris' stinking sofa. He tells Sully how a gangster had a gun to his head and is threatening to kill his cousin Donovan if he doesn't come up with 10 bands. He explains how Jamaica changed him. Sully doesn’t want to forgive Dushane and refuses his big offer. Sully walks off back to Jason but tells Dushane he is sorry about his mother. Sully told Jason he will kill whoever been selling Jason drugs. The 2 walk off together to go somewhere.

Sully and Jason are outside a school as Sully is watching his daughter Tash. Tash is skipping in the school ground. Jason tells Sully to call her over but Jason tells him there is no point because she doesn't really know him since he was in prison.

Stefan and Ats go to the shop to buy aload of burgers. They head back to Stefan's house to cook the burgers and sell them to help support Amma. Aaron walks over and asks why are they not in school. They lie and say teachers training but Aaron doesn't believe them so they tell them that they are looking to sell the burgers to help out Ats’ mom.

Dris, Jaq, Romy and Kieron are standing in Summerhouse with no drugs to sell. Sarah and Lee approach them to tell them that they got an undercover cop watching over them pretending to sell lighters. They tell them his name is Dave. They ask for more drugs but Dris tells them to fuck off as they got no drugs to give out. Dris walks over to the undercover cop and starts conversation. Dave says his name is Jordan and he gives Dris a free lighter. He tells Dris he is from Tottenham. Dris advises Dave to leave as there is alot of gangsters and if they find out what he is doing they are not gonna like it. Dris tells him he is giving friendly advise and walks off. Dris walks back to the crew and tells them not to carry any drugs or weapons.

Dushane calls his cousin Donovan, they catch up, he tells Dushane nothing has happened to him yet. Dushane tells Donovan everything will blow over soon.

Dushane walks over to visit his mum. Shelley answers the door and tells him that his mum is asleep. She offers Dushane a drink. He sneaks upstairs to look for money to steal to save his cousin and get back in the drug business. He goes back downstairs to see Pat who just woke up. Dushane injects his mum with her daily jab. They sit down and have a conversation. Shelley discovers that Dushane was trying to find money out of his mum. Shelley admits to Dushane that she saw what he did but also wants to help him. Dushane walks off.

Ats and Stefan are outside the school when the school finishes trying to sell as much burgers to the kids as they can for £1. Raquel, a school student, gets a free burger from Ats and Stefan teases Ats about Raquel.

Jason and Sully head to Ramsgate, they are at the beach waiting for Gem, an old friend from the Summerhouse estate. Sully tells Jason he has never been to a beach in his life. Gem comes and meets up with them. Gem tells Sully where they are staying. They plan to do something to help make money.

Lizzie meets up with Jamie and shows Jamie footage of his and Cam's crew fighting in the hospital and being all over the news. Jamie explains to Lizzie about why he went to war as he said his girlfriend, Tilly, was shot in a neck through a drive by. Lizzie makes it clear that Jamie better stop with the war as she wants to make as much money with Jamie. Lizzie drives off.

While Gem guides Sully and Jason to where they are staying! He tells them that they are staying with immigrants. Sully discovers Gem was using drugs. He also discovers that Gem had been giving Jason drugs. Sully goes mad with Gem. Sully tells Gem if he gives Jason any kind of drugs he will kill him. Gem continues to take them to their temporary house. Turns out they are in a racist neighbourhood and the house is graffitied saying "foreigners out". They are staying with an immigrant named Faez. Sully negotiates with him. Meanwhile there is alot of racial abuse from a group of people shouting towards the house. Sully goes downstairs to look for the toilet. He hears a baby crying thinking it was left unattended but it happened to be a Muslim woman in there.

Dushane and Dris have a conversation about the undercover cop who moved off the market. Dushane tells Dris to make sure he has 10 grand ready and not care how he gets it. Jaq asks Dris if he is going to let him talk to him like that. Dris tells Jaq to shut up.

Stefan disturbed Jamie in the bath, he explains to Jamie why he skipped school. Jamie just advises Stefan to never miss school again. Jamie's phone rings happening to be Tilly. Stefan goes away and Jamie answers his phone which happened to be her dad.

Ats and Amma are sat down eating dinner, he gives her money what he made selling burgers with Stefan. It was £15. He told Amma he was making money to sell burgers to support his mother and tells Ats that she will always be there for him no matter what.

Dushane is sat in the kebab shop. Jaq and her sister Lauryn meet up with Dushane to give him a tip on how to get 10 grand. Lauryn tells Dushane there is a house where there is house full of cash down the common and tells her the house owner is never in that house and its just her daughter. Lauryn says that the daughter is also in France with her mother. Lauryn tells Dushane that the house is very easy to get in. Dushane rings up Dris and tells him to get a car and come and pick him up.

They both go to the address. Dris waits in the car. Dushane comes in to break in the house. As Dushane is looking for the money, someone comes in the house which happens to be the daughter. She discovers that the house has been burgled so Dushane quickly gets out of the house. Dris didn't call Dushane as he had a seizure and passed. Dushane drags him out the car and puts him in the back and drives off quickly.

Sully, Gem and Jason are back round the sea side lighting fireworks and playing around together.

Jamie comes in the hospital to see Tilly, he takes a seat. Jamie walks in the hospital while she is still in critical care. Her dad is behind him. Tilly is suffered with brain damage. He tells Jamie to never come back and ever see Tilly again. jamie walks off.

Gem and Jason are seen making as much money to sell. Sully and Jason have a conversation about old times. Sully asked Jason how Carolyn was doing, he tells Sully she died. Sully gets really shocked. Jason explained how she died. Sully asked Jason when they get back to London when they get as much money they make. Jason tells Sully he wants to go and watch Arsenal play. Sully promises to Jason that he will take him to watch Arsenal play. Jason goes back up to Gem.

Jamie goes back home, Stefan and Aaron are playing FIFA together. Jamie leaves them and goes to the balcony.
