Amma is Ats' (short for Attica) mother. She is portayed by Jolade Obosola.
Biography[]
Amma is the mother of Ats Ayittey, she works for the NHS until she is laid off due to trouble with immigration, despite her having lived in the UK for over 19 years. This causes Ats to want to make money to save his mother, and pay the rent in order to prevent them from losing their home.
Season 3[]
In Season 3, Amma is working for a hospital as a cleaner for a hospital until the immigration service come out and Amma is forced to leave her job due to trouble with immigration. It causes Ats to try and make money by buying burgers and selling them with Stefan. When Ats starts to get involved with Jaq, Amma is in disbelief about his involvement with crime after having conversations with his teacher and receiving information on Ats school attendance and overall work and effort being poor. In the season finale, Kit comes in her home and tried to kill Ats but fails.
Season 4[]
6 months while Ats is selling drugs, Amma comes out of the house to search for Ats, it turns out Ats is dead. Whilst losing her son, she gets support from Pat, Shelley, Diana, Kieron & Ralph. Amma decides to get herself deported back to Ghana as she has no one left in her family in England.
